The graphic novel "Gingerface" has expanded to a global audience with the release of Volume 1 on several major digital comic platforms, including GlobalComix, Tapas and Webtoon. The release marks the first major international distribution step for the project as the creative team begins introducing the story to readers worldwide.
Gingerface follows the journey of a young boy on a path toward becoming a legend, combining emotional storytelling with a strong comedic core. The project is presented as a graphic novel series, with the first volume now available to readers across multiple global platforms.
The creators describe the project as a high-potential narrative built with long-term ambitions beyond the comic format. Originally conceived with cinematic storytelling in mind, the concept was first envisioned as a potential animated short film before evolving into a graphic novel series.
"We expect big things from this project," said the author Sundaramurthy Murugan. "The story was always designed for major stages, and the graphic novel format allows us to introduce the world and characters before expanding further."
According to the team, the tone of Gingerface blends emotional storytelling with humor, aiming to deliver a narrative that balances heartfelt moments with comedy-driven storytelling. The creators say the story gradually builds toward a memorable comedic payoff.
"With comedy at the core of the storyline, the audience should reach the end with a burst of laughter," the team said, encouraging readers to explore Volume 1 while development on the next installment continues.
Work is already underway on Volume 2, which is currently scheduled for release in September 2026. The upcoming volume will continue expanding the narrative introduced in the first installment.
Looking ahead, the team also confirmed that the long-term vision for Gingerface includes an animated short film adaptation, which is planned to move forward following the completion of the second volume.
